About me
I am a secondary English teacher of 13 year who has moved into working in Alternative Provision within a mainstream setting. All learners I work with have SEND, SEMH or present as vulnerable, or at risk of permanent exclusion. Some have not attended school for a considerable period of time for a range of reasons. Learners have a varied educational experience and needs, and many join Connections with basic skills for learning below those expected for their age.
Tiered approach Tier 1– learners access a bespoke timetable of Connections and relevant external AP.Tier 2 – learners remain in core and option based subjects at MMHS, whilst receiving additional support from in English, Maths and Science, as well as therapeutic sessions in the Connections classrooms.Tier 3– learners work with Connections for 1 to 2 sessions a week in order to work on self development, core or CHANGE disposition.
