About me
Ryan is dedicated to helping people reach their full potential while navigating life's challenges. Over the past decade, he has worked with some of the UK’s most vulnerable youth in London, the North West, as well as in South Africa. Currently, Ryan works as a Specialist Practitioner with Westminster City Council's Changing Futures Specialist Team, supporting 18-25-year-olds affected by multiple disadvantage in the form of homelessness, substance misuse, criminal justice, mental health and domestic abuse. He uses his training in Compassionate Mind Training and Solution Focused Brief Therapy, to help young people manage their emotions, and provide tailored support to find solutions to address their specific challenges.
Beyond his role with Westminster, Ryan is a guest speaker/lecturer, workshop facilitator, and mentor. He also advocates for equality, diversity, and inclusion within university sports and on his own platforms, expresses his thoughts and reflections through blogging and poetry. Ryan has also taught and led school programmes. These roles have all been held in schools, colleges, alternative provisions, universities, and charities.
Ryan’s insight is shaped blending professional experience, academic study with personal lived experience. Having faced adversity in his own childhood and witnessed the struggles of others in childhood and adulthood, he is now committed to supporting and advocating for those impacted by systemic shortcomings.
